Marking World Cancer Day- which is celebrated annually on February 4th, City Mall hosted King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) to launch the center’s latest awareness campaign, ‘Cancer is also Preventable’ which aims to educate and raise public awareness on the seven types of preventable cancers.
City Mall hosted KHCC as part of its long-term corporate social responsibility strategy, which aims to support various initiatives targeting the sustainable development in the Kingdom, particularly those geared toward public health.
Zeina Abu Ragheb, City Mall’s Marketing Manager said: “We hope that this initiative will help raise awareness on this chronic disease that is plaguing our society. We at City Mall believe that the private sector has a responsibility toward the community, particularly when it comes to raising awareness on this serious issue and encouraging citizens to perform the necessary procedures that help in early diagnosis and treatment.”
The campaign endeavors to provide those in attendance with information on seven preventable types of cancer. KHCC’s representatives distributed flyers with a wealth of information on preventive measures, in addition to encouraging them to call the center’s hotline, which answers all queries and provides valuable advice on individual cases. The representatives also answered various questions posed by the attendees regarding the services and programs offered by KHCC, in addition to general questions about cancer.
KHCC’s booth attracted a good number of visitors from City Mall’s shoppers, many of whom showed great interest in activities and information provided by KHCC.
